The Gurulu Raksha Mask on the front of this 20 Rupee banknote from Sri Lanka is a representation of the mythical Gurulu bird (which carried Lord Vishnu, the Hindu God) destoying the snake Naga. The mask symbolises protection and is thought to also bring good luck. On the back of the Sri Lankan Rs20 bill are two fishermen and some shells.
