The Central Bank of Sri Lanka (CBSL) issued in for circulation, 100 Rupee Currency Notes in a series of notes that started in 1991 on theme Sri Lanka Heritage.

Special Varieties
The 1992-07-01 dated Rs 100 note has three Varieties. The Back of Note was changed from a Dark Brown to Orange for the second order with prefix between J/53 and J/73. The J in the Prefix was also made wider but was changed back in the third order.
The 1991-01-01 dated Rs 100 note did not have a DOT in the Thamil Thamil word Rupay which was written in error as ரூபாய and was corrected to ரூபாய் within the First Million Notes, after the error was noticed. There is also some low Serial numbers where the Dot seems to have been added by hand. All the notes in the comparison on left has J/1 Preffix. The No Dot variety is rare.
